Report On Interpretation In Hunan Classical Music Festival

Hunan Provincial Symphony Orchestra, established in1993, deems inheriting classicalmusic and creating elegant art as its responsibility, it has devoted to spread world culture onthe basis of Hu Xiang culture and already become an influential orchestra in Hunan andChina.On August2013, Hunan Provincial Symphony Orchestra and19American classicalmusicians cooperated to hold12-day Hunan Classical Music Festival. As a volunteer Iparticipated in the whole process of the interpreting internship. This practice report gives anall-dimensional analysis and summary of the interpreting recordings in the hope of bringingsome beneficial enlightenment for future work.The report firstly gives an introduction of the background of the festival, then description,requirement and results of the interpretation task. In the chapter of interpretation process, thereport, based on the recording of2recitals, makes a detailed analysis on the impact ofbackground knowledge and listening ability on interpretation. In the chapter of interpretationskills, the author provides coping measures including “addition” and “reduction”accordingly.At last, I draw some conclusions through the combination of practice with theories:background knowledge and listening ability are the key factors to ensure successfulinterpretation. We can effectively reduce the mistakes through sufficient pre-interpretingpreparations along with the long-term accumulation of professional knowledge and theimprovement of listening ability.
