The Soochow family mottoes of Ming and Qing Dynasties not only have the largeamount and diversified forms, but also possess complete and wide-ranging contents. Itinvolvs all aspects of individual,family and social life. Most of the family mottoesinhabited his family genealogies, which caused common prosperity of family genealogiesand family mottoes. When explore the reasons for their prosperous,ultimately, it’sinseparable with the development of soochow’s social economy and culture in Ming andQing Dynasties. The main contents of family mottoes focus on exploring and discussingthe concepts of individuals cultivation,family management,descendants’education andsociety which fastened to the family but beyond it. Soochow’s family mottoes of Ming andQing Dynasties have their inner logic,because it reveals all these things in this manner:from the individual to the family, clan and then to society, nation. Soochow’s familymottoes of Ming and Qing Dynasties inherited the spirit of the Chinese traditional familymottoes, and they show a different side in the Ming and Qing Dynasties the "now", inSoochow this "here". Particularly, these two types of family mottoes of imperial familyand scholar-merchant family are typical, which help Soochow’s family mottoes of Mingand Qing Dynasties to give prominence to further contemplation of imperial examinationand business. Soochow’s family mottoes of Ming and Qing Dynasties was born in "hereand now", they fed in "here and now and the man". Furthermore, they have a lot ofpositive significances for the fostering good family custom and family education,advocating core values, which has apparently broken the isolation of time and space.
