This is a translation report for Chapter Three of Legal Negotiation written by LarryL. Teply. Legal negotiation has become widely recognized as a subject of greatimportance in the practice of law. According to this book, only5%of civil and criminalcases end in the form of court trial, which means95%of cases are ended by ADR.In this report, the author mainly concentrates on the law textbook translation, anduses converse thinking, integrating concepts into a united and organic entity in the lightof the interpretative theory. This research is new attempt, designed to achieve alinguistic docking between English and Chinese language. This translation reportconsists of four chapters.(1) Project Components, consisting of the text selection,objectives of the project, significance of the project, and layout of the report.(2)Background for this study, consisting of the theories introduction, introduction to thesource texts, and its traits analysis.(3) Translation Process, consisting of the translationpreparations, translation difficulties, and translation methodologies.(4) Conclusion,including the experiences from the project, quality control method&its process, andprospects for further study.
