In the vision of the Confucian political philosophy, political and human nature haveintrinsic logic correlation.In the In the final analysis, the construction of politicalorder is the question of human nature.Mencius as a representative of the warring states period of Confucianism, hisbenevolent governance idea is the concentrated reflection of Confucian politicalthoughts.Mencius inherited the ancient idea of "people", to the provisions of thehuman nature to be good, the affirmation of human nature is good, this also for hispolitical thought laid a solid theoretical basis. Mencius said, everyone has the the fourcardinal virtues: humanity, justice, propriety and wisdom.From these gifts of thegoodness, supporting people in personal cultivate one’s morality, family life, sociallife should all work towards a "good"state.If this can be promoted, everyone can be agood man. And rely on the possibility of this kind of good, can form a benign state ofhuman political life. Thus, Mencius thought of benevolent governance was putforward.However,he have replaced the moral ideal and political ideal.And, in turn,replaced the operating system as a level of political science, caused a loss ofdislocation in the political science and political philosophy. Thus, mencius’ politicalphilosophy is moral idealism, is the rational value replaced the tools value, eventuallyto paranoia moral idealism is inevitable.In a word,Mencius’s theory of goodness and his political ideas are an integral whole,leave the virtue theory away, his political ideas will lose the inner according, it will bedifficult to set up logically; without the political thought, the importance of the theoryof virtue will also be reduced.
