There is a sepicial kind of words in Modern Chinise, namely BB add after theadjective A, and itself has a degree meaning,then can’t be modified by degree adverb“很”. According to the preliminary statistics, there are nearly600this kind of words,accounting for25%of adjective which is bisyllable and having the enhance meaningat Modern Chinise. The type of ABB adjectives are always use in the spoken lanuageand novels.The kind adjectives have sepicific structure chracteristics and grammerchracteristics than other type of adjective. The special feature is on the properties ofA and BB, and the formations of ABB adjective. The type of ABB adjectives haveits own grammer chracteristics expcept for having the predicate, attribute, adverbialand complement synatactic function. And according to the property of A, its can bedivided to adjective, noun,verb, semi-free morpheme and unfress morpheme.According to whether BB have the role in forming the meaning of ABB adjective, itsis a etyma when its can use alone and the meaning won’t be changed at the ABBadjective, or its meaning change at the ABB adjective.And it is also a etyma when itcan not use alone but play a important role in consisting the meaning of ABBadjective. But it is a affix when it can’t affect the meaning of the ABB adjective,which meaning is decided by A. In addition, the structure of ABB can be divided toattaching and composite, and the later also can be divided to completement form andsubject-predicate. ABB adjective can not use at the sentences of “不/没(有)+”“X不X””越来越”,but it can be modified by time adverb, frequency adverband scope adverb; combined with the preposition of “被、让、给”; added by “了””起来” and complement after it.
