Study On Nickname Of Uyghur In Awat Region

Giving a name has been started from the far human history. Since that,the names have become a tool not only for communication activities, anindividual or a sign of the family, it also reflects on the social development ofhuman activities in the natural and social transformation on the road, socialpsychology, philosophy of life, the market for pipes, language habits theirsocial customs and so on.Each nation in the world has the tradition of using nicknames. Name is asocial phenomenon which has the characteristics of space, time, it is theproduction of a distinctive national characteristics and artistic consciousness.In the case of Uighur currently not using the surname, the nicknamesstill exist reflecting on the popularity of historical tradition of family andmedia representatives to make the link with the family by blood, have sexualcharacteristics, reflecting certain Uighur culture. Nicknames widely spreadaround, to some extent, it has some regional differences. Nickname alsowidespread among Uighur in Awat County, especially in the family nicknameis very common.This article mainly consists of four chapters, appendix and conclusion.In the introduction, there are explanations of the purpose andsignificance of the topic, the subject of research at home and abroad, theobject of study, research methods and research programs.The first chapter gives brief information about Awat and Awat Countyman; some analyses like the information of ethnological source, the usage ofthe nickname among Uighur, the basic of existence of the nickname amongAwat people, based on the historical materials.The second chapter analysis the theory, variety especially the familynicknames of Awat Uighur based on the study about Uyghur nicknames, andbased on the survey data analysis.In the third chapter, there are analyzes of usage of the nickname amongAwat Uighur, the social impacts of the using nicknames onAwat Uyghur.The chapter four analyzes the current usage and the reasons of changesof nicknames in Awat Uighur, using the analytical cases. Meanwhile, someviews about the possibilities of using nickname as surname among AwatUighur.In the appendix, by using field survey data, given a summary of survey,and there are some specific examples of Awat Uighur surnames, pointing outthe possibility of using as nicknames.
