Beijing And Shaanxi Regional Culture Impacting On Ye Guangqin’s Novel Creation

Regional culture is a cultural label of writers. All of characters, time, customs, eventsin the novel are reflect the writer’s life. Ye Guangcen’s Novels influenced and shaped byBeijing and Shaanxi culture. For example, she can objectively meeting family stories of thepast, and She can showed their understanding of rural culture. There is a big controversyabout Ye Guangqin’s identity,in the modern critic’s comments.Shaanxi writers think she isa Beijing writer,but Beijing writers who turn her as exotic.She traveled in two places,taking two places as their own hometown emotionally.This paper attempts to analyze from the perspective of regional culture, selecing textreading, and investigating the influence. The thesis includes three partes in order tocombing the characteristic of regional culture on her works. The preface is introduce theunique geographical and cultural of Beijing and Shaanxi. Compared to the modern cultureof Beijing, Ye Guangcen was more of a miss. And compared to the Shaanxi writers, shewas a little on the feelings of the land.The first part is the analysis of the influence of regional culture on the writer’screation psychology. Both are used to be the ancient political economic and cultural center,the capital had a history turned from boon to drawback. She was born in a big noblefamily,and her father was a royal Highness in Qing dynasty. She is very strong for herfather died when she was young. For historical reasons, she came to Shaanxi, theexperience as an educated youth makes her special.She had worked on a farm, engaged innursing practice and study in Japan, all of these experiences have relations with Shaanxi.The second chapter analyzes the works of Beijing regional culture from theperspective of text. The first part introduces Beijing people’s official interest andPoliteness. In the second part, Characters and events in her novels can only be happened inthe capital city of Beijing. Finallyis about the local customs and habits.The third part mainly analyzed the characteristic of Shaanxi regional culture. In thedescription of Shaanxi, the author is writing from the sidelines. She tie her educated youthexperience with northern Shaanx, this is a continuation of a life outside of Beijing.Whendescribing the bandits, the original story is obtained from her working experience. She is more focus on the performance of the bandits chivalrous character and cultural value. Thedeep reason lies in the regional culture and customs of Shanxi where the author lives and inhis individual mind and emotional attitude.Ye’s story in Shaanxi are less than Beijing’s. In her eyes, Shaanxi became the country,and Beijing is the city. She describe Shaanxi through interview or talk with the local.Therefore, Shaanxi and Beijing have become the two indivisible part in the creation of YeGuangqin.
