Compared to utilizing traditional learning materials forms, utilizing online Englishvideo materials for English learning has greater advantages. That is not only becauseunder Internet surroundings, language learners can find learning materials that are moreappropriate to them, but also for that language learners can form a way of learning thatis less stressful, less anxious, more activate and more self-centered compared totraditional classroom learning. Since that the domestic research on the use and effect ofEnglish videos is not thorough enough, this study is a case study in ChongqingUniversity, investigate the college students who have used English videos fromYOUKU, from their personal experience, what their utilization situations in the use ofYOUKU English videos and their motivation and acceptance of using YOUKU Englishvideos for their language learning.The author uses questionnaire survey to get the study results and analyze them byusing SPSS19.0. The study results indicate that80per cent of respondents think thatEnglish videos of YOUKU are effective. The attitude of college students in the use ofYOUKU English videos for language learning is mainly positive. However, above90per cent of them just used English videos of YOUKU for extensive activities, few didintensive activities. About70per cent of the students were not against using Englishvideos from YOUKU for doing after class self-study for half an hour. About30per centof the students agreed to use YOUKU English videos for more intensive learning. Moststudents think the quality of the videos should be improved and the classification shouldbe more scientific.
