| It is urgent to cultivate students’ ICC (short for interculturalcommunicative competence) through culture teaching in the era ofglobalization and multiculturalization. However, few researches havebeen made on communicative culture teaching, thus this thesis isdesigned to survey the status quo of non-English learners’ ICC andcultivate their ICC through communicative culture teaching. Bothquantitative study and qualitative analysis will be employed in thisresearch. The subjects are non-English sophomores who major inengineering-related subjects in Xi’an University of Posts andTelecommunications, questionnaire is used to survey their status quo ofICC, and then the author analyzes their cultural knowledge and culturelearning through sociocultural test as well as interviews. The results showthat non-English learners’ ICC is still low and culture teaching lackscommunicative culture. The research gives the content of communicativeculture; meanwhile, it makes a contribution to improving non-Englishlearners’ICC. |
