It also hasseveral aliases such as Dahua Stickã€Money Stickã€Da Lian Xiang and All-Ring. Anobjective of this paper is to exhibit existing status of Bawang whip in North Shanxiprovince. The objective of this research was achieved by investigating localtraditionsã€understanding dance elementsã€researching historical cultureã€collectingliteratures and doing field trip around both Jingbian and Dinbian districts.This thesis is divided into five chapters. The first chapter is an introduction thatintroduces the problem statementã€study objective and methodology. Chapter2is theliterature review that provides background information about the Bawang whip danceand related local culture. The chapter also highlights several different opinions aboutthe dance origin. Chapter3outlines the dance performance formã€existing status andanalysis performance mechanism and typical movement according to the informationfrom field trip.
