This paper mainly discusses the gender perspective in the male writers and femalewriters in the face of the May Fourth Movement of attitudes and perceptions on theissue of chastity, chastity ideas and culture, social psychology, politics are closelylinked, is an important factor affecting the harmony between men and women. MayFourth period affected by the West of emancipating the mind, progressives andliterary criticism through practical action against the traditional chastity, so thefamily concept, love, marriage has developed. Traditional Chastity face the harm towomen, male writers and authors to express their views in the literature, but due tothe different results in different creative ideas of gender, male writers objectivelyexposing the social roots of women suffering caused by their pen more women areweak, as more influenced by patriarchal ideology, they face more complex issues ofchastity, and female writers and more starting from their own feelings, describing thenew women’s lives, in the face of resistance attitude chastity more explicit.This thesis is divided into three chapters, the first chapter discusses the criticismof the May Fourth Movement Traditional Chastity, first comb the history of Chastity,followed by the May Fourth period presentation enlightening to reflect on theshortcomings of traditional theoretical criticism Chastity, and finally discusseschastity in the May Fourth Movement in literary expression. The second chapter is bymale writers to analyze the male attitude toward chastity, which has a traditional sidealso has a modern side, analyze its causes and manifestations. The third chapteranalyzes the attitude of women for chastity, in order to compare male and femalewriters in the face of chastity different attitude works by female writers.
