Poetic Inheritance And Innovation In Wei, Jin And Southern Dynasties

The poetry of Wei, Jin and southern Dynasties, inheriting the Book of Songs andChu ci and making preparation for prosperous age of Tang poems, is of significance inthe history of Chinese poetry. Book of Songs stands for the highest level of GroupPoetics development, and under the selecting standard of graceful, decent and mild tone,the selected works have such features as wide coverage, typical representativeness, highartistic value and well preservation. Therefore, it has so profound influence that isenough to become a sample of poetry in Wei, Jin and southern Dynasties. The thesisregards the two aspects as the research object, and discusses the Tong Bianrelationship (It means relationship between inheritance and innovation.) betweenpoems of Wei, Jin and Southern Dynasties and Book of Songs based on textualanalysis. The goal of this thesis is to clear up how these poets of Wei, Jin andSouthern Dynasties have experienced such a process, which imitates classical mode,inherits achievements of Group Poetics, and then gradually creates their own poeticcreation form and characteristics.The thesis is divided into three chapters. The first chapter，the Tong Bianrelationship between the type of poem selection, theme and Book of Songs,analyzes theme and subject changes in poems of Wei, Jin and Southern Dynasties,from some perspectives of classification selecting poem, study of Book of Songs,types inheriting Book of Songs, theme and types’ innovation. The second chapter,Tong Bian relationship between language style of Poem Selection and Book ofSongs, studies the inheritance and innovation between Poem Selection and Book ofSongs. In this chapter, the author mainly analyzes word, sentential form and structureas well as chapters and sections’ organization according to some phenomena quotingBook of Songs among two types of Poem Selection--four character verse and fivecharacter verse. The third chapter, Tong Bian relationship between Fubixing andimage of Poem Selection, mainly analyzes such two aspects, the image combinationof Wei, Jin and Southern Dynasties and cultural perspectives, from the perspectives ofFubixing and image types of Wei, Jin and Southern Dynasties includingdevelopment and artistic features of description and narration image, metaphoricalimage, symbol image and invigoration.
