| Poem Teaching(education of the Book of Songs) tradition in the Pre-Qin Period depends on education background of that time. So making a systematic study on Poem Teaching tradition on the basis of researching the education background in the Pre-Qin Period will help to understand its occurrence, development processes and characteristics of different stages thoroughly. After a whole master of characteristics of Poem Teaching in the Pre-Qin Period, some problems which will be met in the course of study can be solved successfully. According to this train of thought, the thesis, from the point of education background in the Pre-Qin Period to look at, deduces the development of Poem Teaching and its characteristics of different stages. Then on this basis, the thesis also makes a further searching for the relationship between the Preface of Book of Songs and it, striving to solve some problems. With regard to the paper's structure, the thesis divides education in the Pre-Qin Period into three parts according to the order of times which are the education of Western Zhou official schools , official schools'education of the Spring and Autumn and Warring States Period, private schools'education of the Spring and Autumn and Warring States Period. Concerning specific of writing, the thesis discusses from three levels: firstly, a document textual research to education background of the same time; secondly, a study to the current situation and characteristics of Poem Teaching on the basis of education background in Pre-Qin Period; thirdly, a search for the relationship between the Poem Teaching and the Preface of Book of Songs and a explanation on some specific problems.Introduction of the thesis introduces the reasons of picking this topic, reviewing its researching history and illustrating the searching methods and the significance of creating.The first chapter discusses the education in the Western Zhou Period and the Book of Songs. The educational materials of the Western Zhou Period recorded in ancient books and records are textual criticized on literature. And the characteristics of Poem Teaching at this time and the relationship between the Preface of Book of Songs and it are discussed. A powerful influence on the latter studies of the Book of Songs by the official Poem Teaching about the content and method of the Book of Songs'explanation is pointed out also.The second chapter states the official schools'education in the Spring and Autumn and Warring States Period and the Book of Songs. Through analyzing the current situation and characteristics of the official schools'education in the Spring and Autumn and Warring States Period and Poem Teaching affected by it, conclusions are arrived. Firstly, the official schools'education after the Spring and Autumn Period exists until the Pre-Qin Period though it is not forceful. Secondly,"the explanation and usage of the Book of Songs should accord with explainer's intentions", as a purpose of teaching the Book of Songs, is added at the official Poem Teaching of the Spring and Autumn Period. Thirdly, a lose of meaning of original movements is caused by the occasion's changes that some poems are used as music.The third chapter discusses the private schools'education in the Spring and Autumn and Warring States Period and the Book of Songs. By analyzing the current situation and characteristics of the private schools'education in the Spring and Autumn and Warring States Period and Poem Teaching affected by it, the thesis points out that the content of"Four Teaching", such as the Book of Songs and the Book of History becomes no practical and is out of the teaching f other schools except Confucianism and Mohism because of disorder of Propriety( Western Zhou Dynasty was in a state of disorder) at this time。The thesis also states that Poem Teaching of Confucianism reflects characteristics of different stages because of progress of times and teachers of the Book of Songs and resolves some specific problems on the basis of the relationship between Poem Teaching and the Preface of Book of Songs.Conclusion makes a summary according to the times'order of different special subject and indicates some problems which remain to be solved further in the researching of this special subject.The thesis brings forth three new ideas. The first one is about the education and teaching of the Pre-Qin Period. The relatively further research into the situation of the official schools'education and teaching in the Spring and Autumn and Warring States Period fills gaps in the study of the official schools'education of that time. The second one is on Poem Teaching in the Pre-Qin Period. In the first place, the"language"of"the language of music"is a special method of speaking and an essential distinction between words and expressions for everyday speaking, and it is not a speaking method but the argumentation as the content of speaking. In the second place, the difference between"xing"of"six divisions"and"xing"of"the language of music"is that the former is a form of music which can be sung but the latter is a way of speaking. In the third place, the reasons of the finding of lost poems are be analyzed. The third one is on the searching of the Preface of Book of Songs. Through comparing the relationship between the explanation of the Book of Songs and the Preface of Book of Songs in Pre-Qin Period, the characteristic that the poem's meaning infers form poem's text reflected by some prefaces of poems is found. Thus a conclusion is arrived that this kind of prefaces of poems doesn't accord with the system of Zhou Dynasty though it is explained form the angle of politics. |
