| Emotions conveyed by colors are coloration’s spirits assigned by human beings’subjective feelings and consciousness, and therefore they are metaphors according tothe concepts of chromatics, the science of color. It is a spontaneous process that thevisual information and sensations regarding environment’s coloration perceived bypeople are incorporated into their personal experiences; consequently the generationof a sort of subjective emotion is achieved. In the field of visual arts, traits of emotionare regarded as the one of the most significant objectives of studies. Red, as one ofcommonly-used colors, has the capability of stimulating a series of correspondingexperiences of emotions with archetypal meanings. People’s experience and feelingstowards red will accumulate and develop as the time goes by, gradually forming theirown aesthetic interest and intention as well as adding many subjective or objectivefeelings and interpretations for red, which is actually the shining point of red in thecolor language of animation art. As a result, in terms of art study and animationcompetition, it is of vital significance to have a full knowledge, comprehension andapplication of this emotional culture in red. This thesis explores the culturalbackground of red from different historical periods, regions and directions. Thus, itinspires some thinking related to some art cases or art phenomena in contemporaryanimation and can help designers become familiar with and apply the emotionalculture of red to work on animation designs, for animation design open vast space;help the viewer systemã€complete understand the red emotion of animation works andmore deeper understand the designer’s intentions and thoughts, resonate with thedesigner. |
