| "BL fiction" takes the aesthetic love between men as its main theme, but mainlywritten and read by heterosexual women who called "fujoshi".With the spread of theInternet,BL fiction has become one of the most popular original literature type in theweb novel in the mainland of China.In this paper,based on the definition of theconcept and features of "Tanbi","BL fiction"and "fujoshi".I will analyze severalcommon types of BL fiction and themes,while explore the common and diversedemands of the fujoshi.In the traditional patriarchal society, men are staring subject,while women arealways "be seen" object.BL fiction breaks the previous narrative structure and buildsup the text of Feminism, making men become the "be watched" object while womenis the "spectators."As manipulators and spectators fujoshi unwind the male authorityand wanton consume the male body.Male who played a hegemonic role is weakened,or even take the responsibility of childbearing instead of women.This is not only anexpression of pursuing the real pure love, but also a way to ease fujoshi’s repressedlust through this kind of entertainment and enjoy the upgrade the dominant positionof women in the subconsciousness.However, the male in BL fiction is not equivalentto the man in the real world, but a male sign imagined by fujoshi.Fujoshi want tooffside from the second sex to the first sex with the help of BL fiction, but they cannot change the fate of being women in reality.Therefore, BL fiction shows a complexpsychological conflicts about the defiance and compromise to patriarchy,sympathyand revenge to gay, hate the patriarchal society but inferiority in the heart,desire toseek self-worth while wish to be protected.BL fiction is a subversion to the traditional mainstream narrative,and an attemptto deconstruct male discourse hegemony.But they confuse imagination and reality,and can not change the entrenched male dominance in social structure and culturalcontext.BL fiction actually becomes an aesthetic utopia to rebellious adolescent girlswhich makes them escape from social reality. |
