The thesis consists of three parts, namely, the source text of The One-Trial LearningControversy and Its Aftermath: Remembering Rock (1957), the Chinese version translatedby the author and a report on the translation. The source text is a thesis on ExperimentalPsychology. It presents the one-trial learning controversy and its aftermath. The source textis a typical informative text, and the translation of such a text is so significant for Chinesepsychologists.After describing the three stages of translation, including the features of each stage andthe respective roles they play in making a good translation, the report focuses on analyzingthe techniques employed in translating the source text into Chinese with examples. Theexperience gained from translating The One-Trial Learning Controversy and Its Aftermath:Remembering Rock (1957) is then summed up. |
