Domestic research about error adaptation or error processingis very few little at present days, especially majority of theseresearches are only stay in literature review. Otherwise, mostexisted abroad report that investigated error adaptation arebase on simple mapping tasks. However, the true is, post erroreffects in these tasks is only a attentional effect but not aadaption effect. Error adaptation help people mobilize theircognitive resources to make daily life orderly. Therefore, thisresearch pretend to use simple multiplication verificationtask that more complicated to direct mapping tasks toinvestigate error adaptation effect. Furthermore, differentstrategies and different processing stage has been documentedin this kind of task, what it owns is conform to the complexsituation that we need. Besides, conflict adaptation effect inmental arithmetic is discussed. According to the featureintegration theory, people strengthen the S-R connection afterconflict to improve their performance. But what if there is alarge amount of problems with different solutions? How couldthe performance benefited frome the strengthing in previoustrial? To answer these question, this research investigateerror adaptation and conflict adaptation using simple multiplaication verification tasks. Following are the results:(1) post error response time is significantly slower thanafter correct responses; post error accuracy is significantlyhigher than after correct responses.(2) the interference effect which refer to the differencebetween high-conflict trials and low-conflict trials issignificant; but there is no observation that the conflictlevel of previous trial influence the response time andaccuracy of current trials.(3) there is no reduction of interference effect after ahigh-conflict trial: to response time, the interference effectis dependent from the conflict level of previous trial; toaccuracy, the interference is enhanced after a high-conflicttrial.
