| The study conducts experimental research of mental addition and mental subtraction on 90 pupils from Grade 2, 4, and 6. The purpose is to inspect the grade differences on time of mental addition and mental subtraction of pupils from three grades as well as grades differences of arithmetic time and integration time. The results show that mental arithmetic time of pupils from Grade 2, 4 and 6 decreases with the increase of grades.In the non-carry mental addition of 1-digit number and multi-digit number, mental arithmetic time differences lie in arithmetic time differences and integration time differences. In the carry mental addition of 1-digit number and multi-digit number, mental arithmetic time differences lie in arithmetic time differences. In the mental subtraction of multi-digit number subtracting 1-digit number, there are no grade differences of arithmetic time and there are significant grade differences of integration time. In the subtraction with borrow of multi-digit number subtracting 1-digit number, the grade differences of mental arithmetic time lie in the arithmetic time differences instead of integration time differences. |
