The college is an important turning point in the individual’s life, students will encounter alot of day-to-day school life stress events when facing the complex and changing environment.Many scholars widely concerned about coping, which is an important mediating variables ofstress events and individual fitness. However, previous studies remained mostly on therelationship between coping style and mental health, lacking of comprehensive study scenarioof stressful events and the variable. Coping flexibility should focus on scenarios and copingstyle match, which makes research in the field no longer focus only on what kind of deal withthe mental health benefits, but also examine the individual scenarios controllable perception.In addition, self consistency and congruence as an important variable in the process of healthypersonality, can reflect the difference between reality of self and experience self. It is also aneffective indicator to predicting mental health. Therefore,the present study attempts toexamine:1,the relationship between coping flexibility and individual mental health;2, therelationship between self consistency and congruence and Mental Health;3,whether the selfconsistency and congruence plays an intermediary role between coping flexibility and mentalhealth.The material used in this study is the flexibility coping of the questionnaire, the selfconsistency and congruence questionnaire as well as mental health questionnaire. It discussesthe characteristics of330college students and the relationship among them. This article usesthe SPSS16.0to process the research data, including descriptive statistics, t test, one-wayANOVA analysis, correlation analysis, regression analysis and so on. The main conclusions ofthe study are the following:1, There is no significant difference in students’ coping flexibility dimension in terms ofgender, whether it is an only child, profession. But there is a significant difference in the senseof control dimension among grades, scenarios-strategies match and source place.2, Self consistency and congruence is a normal distribution on the whole. Most of the studentsare optimistic; differences in male and female college students are mainly reflected in theself-dimension of flexibility;3, The sense of control and coping validity are significantly associate with various dimensions of mental health, as well as the other two;4, Self consistency and congruence plays an intermediary role between the coping flexibilityand mental health.
