Sexual orientation refers to the individual has the psychological or behavioraldifferences in preferences on different gender. Due to different genders, sexualorientation can be divided into heterosexual, homosexual, bisexual and asexual.Because of homosexuality being regarded as a metamorphosis sexual orientation,homosexuals are treated as metamorphosis ones, suffering from social isolation anddiscrimination. With the cultural diversity of society, the homosexual phenomenonmore and more is accepted by the public. Gay and lesbians are not only enter into thenormal society, and even speak of fashion. There are uncertain sexual orientation andthe "yearning" phenomenon of the pseudo-homosexuality, or the situation ofhomosexuality in the teenagers. These phenomenons affect the healthy growth ofyoung people. Discussing the assessment of sexual orientation can attribute to find theappropriate method and help confused ones to recognize his or her sexual orientation.The purpose of this study was to compare difference of behavior and ERPsbetween the homosexuals and heterosexuals in the cognitive process to thesentimental and erotic pictures. Selection of20male college students as subjects, ofwhich10is a gay,10for heterosexual. Selected20male college students as subjects,including10gay and10heterosexual. Study materials for the20male-male, male-female sentimental and erotic pictures.Conclusion:I.Behavioral data: the sexual preference differences in the self-reportsbetween homosexual men and heterosexual men: The homosexual men aremore preference to the male-male sentimental and erotic pictures. and maleheterosexual more sentimental and erotic pictures. there was no difference in thereaction time of homosexual and heterosexual.II. In the early and late cognitive processing, there were two amplitudes of theN100and P300, in which ERPs of homosexual men were more higher thanheterosexual men to stimulation of the male-male pictures,and lower to stimulationof the male-female pictures.III.In processing region of the brain, homosexual men are higher in the N100ofthe left and right-frontal areas and left and right-central areas, in the P300of theleft-middle-right-frontal areas, the middle-parietal area and the left-central area to the the male-male pictures. Heterosexual men higher in the N100of the right-frontalarea, in the P300of the left-middle-frontal areas o the the male-female pictures.
