Because Chinese doesn’t have the obvious mark of a sentence component, foreigners always find that it’s so difficult to analysis the sentence structure of Chinese. Therefore first of all, they need to understand the symbol of the sentence structure—conjunction, and then they could fluently speak Chinese.Chinese conjunction belongs to a Function word class. Korean conjunction is made up of conjunctive adverbs and the conjunctive end of words. The conjunctive end of words is like Chinese conjunction which couldn’t independently use alone; it has the trait of Chinese function words.Chinese conjunction is similar to Korean conjunction in a grammatical function; the conjunction generally is used in connecting words, phrases or sentences for maintaining the relationship between the sentence semantics of logic before and after. This paper has selected a Korean book for corpus which named for<Whether you choose what kind of life I will cheer for you>. That was written by Kong Jiyeong who was famous as a Korean women writer. Using the corpus of original and translation, this paper compared two languages’conjunctions and analyzed commonality and difference in the application. This paper was designed to four parts. The first part explained the purpose of this study and the research of preceding studies:The first segment introduced the purpose of studying conjunction. The second segment interpreted the present status of Chinese and Korean studies from researching preceding study results. Also the third segment explained the corpus of this paper and the research method. The second part introduced similarity and difference of classification between Chinese and Korean conjunctions:The first and the second segments illustrated Chinese and Korean conjunctions that included in the definition and the classification. The third segment interpreted four characteristics between Chinese and Korean conjunctions in their application (Syllabic features, independent characteristic, sentence position and ellipsis). The third part analyzed corpus and compared those classification in Chinese and Korean conjunctions:through analyzing Chinese conjunction and Korean conjunction in the corpus, it compared semantic similarity and difference. The first segment and the second segment compared corresponding conjunction and not corresponding conjunction. The fourth part interpreted the feature that could occur during comparing the conjunctions of two languages:the first segment analyzed pragmatic characteristics between Chinese and Korean conjunctions from the translation gap of conjunction. The second segment explained conjunction characteristics in its application. The third segment studied that the translation could make meaning gap from the perspective points of linguistics. This paper discussed on the three aspects of conjunction:the phonic, semantic and pragmatic features of Chinese and Korean conjunctions.
