The Warring States Peried is a period that new age replace the old age, political unrestand unbearable, schools of thought appear and developing period. Mencius is one of thephilosophers in this period, the war regarded as "saint second" in the later generations,Mencius’s thinking is conforming to the social development, and still used for reference. Toresearch the value of the traditional ideas, requires us not only to find the content of thesimple retelling, but to emphasizes how can it, still affect people’s lives and thoughts in thecontemporary society.Mencius’s legal ethics is a goodness theory. It based on the theory of "benevolence"thought, also inherited the concern theories of ZiSi. He thinks life have four terminal method:every child born has innate goodness, but covered by later secular society, it need peopleconstantly to perfect your heart and show the goodness, and then have four good moralcharacter of heart, reach the perfect state of life. At the stage of improve the moral character, itneed the moral and law to regulate the behavior of people, so Mencius based on moral, legaland moral combination of legal ethics thought. But the essence of ethics on law, to help therulers to rule people, and it is representative of the interests of the ruling class.The concrete contents of Mengcius legal ethics includes the legislation, justice andlaw-abiding ethics. These legal ethics play a impotant role at the system of filialpiety, systemof sentencing and the systerm of program in our country and it provide the traditional theorybasis.
