Clinical Study On The Treatment Of Chloasma By Acupuncture And Moxibustion

Objective: This study through observe and compare different methods, in particular with acupuncture and facial moxibustion treatment of chloasma, preliminarily sum up the TCM treatment’s efficacy of this disease, characteristics and advantages,for furtherly improve and optimize treatment’s programmes and provide clinical theory basis to explore the mechanism of chloasma’s treatment by acupuncture and moxibustion.Method: Collect 60 cases of chloasma and divid randomly into acupuncture and moxibustion group, the acupuncture group, the Chinese herbal medicine group. After treatments for 3 courses, in the light of the 2003 amendments, " the clinical diagnosis and efficacy standards of chloasma (revised version) ",take the method of integral of chloasma severity to judge the efficacy of chloasma.And in order to increase the credibility of efficacy, acupuncture and moxibustion group apply image analysis techniques to the photographs which be taken before and after treatments.Conclusion:1. This three methods all have some effect in the treatment of chloasma. The acupuncture and moxibustion group’s total effective rate is 100%,and have significant differences (p<0.01) among the three groups. The cure rate of the acupuncture and moxibustion group is significantly higher than the Chinese herbal medicine group(p<0.05), but acupuncture group and Chinese herbal medicine group have no difference in the total effective rate and cure rate(p>0.05).2. After statistics tests, the image analysis(the average optical density; the average gray;the area of brown spot) of the acupuncture and moxibustion group have very significantly statistics sense( p<0.01) between before and after the treatments.So,we could belive that acupuncture and puls moxibustion on the face is the best way in the three therapies.
