Study On The Problems Of Hospital Libraries Construction And Countermeasures Of The Top Three Hospitals In Chongqing Area

Being the information center of hospital, the hospital library is a very important part of public health services. It serves for the medical treatment,medical research and education in the hospital. With the fast development of medical technology and updated medical knowledge, hospital library, as the information collection and distribution center, becomes more and more important. The construction of hospital library has a great influence on the improvement of medical technology of hospitals.This paper chose the top three hospitals in Chongqing area as the object to know the library construction problems and explore the causes of those problems as to get a solution. Through the study on library construction of the top three hospitals in Chongqing area, this paper aims at providing guidance and theoretical support for the construction of hospital libraries in Chongqing area and in our country as well.In this paper, research methods as expert consultation, literature research and questionnaire are used to get a quite clear understanding aboutthe hospital library construction of the top three hospitals in Chongqing area. Investigation content of the questionnaire includes fundamental construction, readers’ service, expenditure and digitization resources.Through the analysis of investigation results, the library construction in Chongqing area was found ragged. The overall level is fairly low and most of them have different kind of problems. The reasons are basically as follows. First, the inefficiency of expenditure limits the construction of hospital library; Second, managers’ cognition deviation about hospital library causes imbalance development of hospital library; Third, the unreasonable construction of library staff restricts the service level of hospital library; Fourth, the lower utilization of hospital library makes its value hard to be affirmed.Aiming at solving the problems of library construction in Chongqing area, following strategies are put forwarded as good solutions. Firstly, to combine with hospital accreditation standards, establishing a construction standards which conforming to the actual situation of Chongqing hospital libraries. Secondly, cultivating a well-qualified hospital library staff through talent introduction and continuing education. Thirdly, hospital library should improve its own service ability with innovative service mode and change of service concept. Finally, promoting the information construction of hospital library by the digitization construction and the share of resource platform.Through the study of the library construction of the top three hospitals in Chongqing area, we get to know the actuality of hospital library construction in this area. After deep analysis about the existing problems and the causes of these problems, we come up with comprehensive solution strategies to solve these problems. These strategies have guiding significance to the library construction in Chongqing area. At the same time,these strategies could play a important role in promoting the hospital library constructions in our country.
