Efficacy Of Stone Basket Combined With Flexible Ureteroscopic Holmium Laser Lithotripsy In Treatment Of Renal Calculus

Objective to study the effect of stone basket on treatment of renal calculus during flexible ureteroscopic holmium laser lithotripsy.Methods From June 2014 to May 2015 in our hospital, a total of 148 patients with renal calculus were divided into the observation group(n=73) and the matched group(n=75) according to random number table by computer. Seventy-three patients who underwent flexible ureteroscopic holmium laser lithotripsy combined with the stone basket were assigned to the observation group while 75 patients who only underwent flexible ureteroscopic holmium laser lithotripsy were assigned to the matched group. The operation time, postoperative hospital stay, hemoglobin decrease, fever rate, stone clearance rate and stone step rate were compared between the two groups.Results There was no significant statistical difference between the two groups in terms of the age of the patients and the size of the calculus(P=0.628, P=0.101).The operation time of the observation group was longer than that of the matched group [(84.4±4.0) min vs.(68.7±4.6) min,P=0.000].The rate of stone removal in the observation group was 98.6%(72/73),which was higher than that of 89.3%(67/75)in the matched group(P=0.034). The stone step rate in the observation group(0/73) was lower than that of 8.0%(6/75)in the matched group( P=0.028). There was no statistical difference between the two groups in terms of postoperative hospital stay, hemoglobin decrease and fever rate.Conclusion The stone basket combined with flexible ureteroscopic holmium laser lithotripsy is safe and feasible in the treatment of renal calculus,and can improve the rate of stone removal, reduce the stone step rate; therefore it is worth promoting in qualified hospitals.
