Objective: In order to deepen the understanding of a rare disease that is xanthogranulomatous cystitis, and improve the level of diagnosis and treatment.Methods: We undertake a retrospective trial that a patient who was hospitalized and diagnosised with xanthogranulomatous cystitis, and review the related literature of domestic and overseas. The clinical characteristics, differential diagnosis, therapeutic strategies and the prognosis of xanthogranulomatous cystitis were summarized and analysed.Results: The clinical symptoms of xanthogranulomatous cystitis complicated variable, early diagnosis is not simple and easy. There is not any specific character in cystoscope or imaging examination. and our case is analogous to the urachal carcinoma. Eventually, xanthogranulomatous cystitis is the final diagnosis.Conclusion: Xanthogranulomatous cystitis is a clinical rare case, and the clinical experience is insufficient. it is not easy to differentiate from bladder tumor, urachus tumor. The eventual diagnosis depends majorly on histopathological examination, surgical resection is the main treatment method. The disease belongs to benign tumour, and the prognosis is good, but it is perhaps to local recurrence.
