Clinical Study Of Self-made Chinese Medicine Paste In The Treatment Of Erosive Oral Lichen Planus

Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy of the self-made traditional Chinese medicine paste in the treatment of oral lichen planus.Methods:40 cases with rosive oral lichen planus confirmed according diagnostic standand and histopathology observation were randomly divided into experimental group(7 men,13 female) and control group(6 men, 14 female), giving self-made traditonal Chinese medicine paste and purslane according. Moderate Chinese medicine paste embrocated to lesions according to area size. Three times per day, and a course should last two weeks. Curative effect would be evaluated in the first and third month after the course ended. Clinical assessments included objective and subject. The former decided by damaged area. However the subject assessment decided wirh visual analogue scale method(VAS), which was classfied into 10 grades to record pain degree. VAS would be performed by patients themselvmes. The theparical cratiers were such as: 0 point indicated mucous membrane; 1 point implied slightly white stipe without congestion, astrophy and erosion; 2 points meaned white stipe with congestion or astrophy, and the area was less than 1 square meter; 3 points indicated the area of white stripe with congestion or astrophy was more than 1 square meter; 4 points showed the area size of white stripe with erosion was less than 1 square meter; 5 points the area size of white stripe with erosion exceeded 1 square meter.And aponia scored 0 point(VAS= 0), slight pain recorded 1 point(VAS=1~3), medium pain showed 2 points(VAS =4~6), severe pain said 3 points(VAS =7~10). If the congestion and erosion disappered and white stripe dismissed or degraded after curing, the clinical therapical efficancy labeled excellent, with pains gone completely.It is effective that the aera of congestion and erosion shrinked and pains redubed. No changes meaned ineffective. SPSS17.0 statistical software was used to process data, and the results were statistically significant with chi square(2) test, P value was less than 0.05.Results:(1)A month later, 2 markedly effective, 16 effective and 2 invalid casesexited in the experimental group.The total efficiency of 90%. Acordingly, 0, 12, 8 cases respectively in the control group, the total effective rate was 60%. The clinical curative effect of experimental group was significantly better than the control group, the difference is statistically significant(P<0.05).(2)Three months later,6 markedly effective, 13 effective and 1 invalid cases exited in the experimental group, the total efficiency of 95%; Accordingly, 2, 13, 5 cases respectively in control group, the total effective rate was 70%; the clinical curative effect of experimental group was significantly better than the control group, the difference is statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:The short-term clinical efficacy of the self-made traditional Chinese medicine paste in the treatment of oral lichen planus is better.
