Abstract/Summary:
Objective:By comparing the infection rate of the incision after operation about the two groups,we could explore the preventive strategies of the infection of incision after transumbilical single-port laparoscopic appendectomy. Methods:We collected 67 cases from 2011 to 2011 and grouped according to time. We choose31 cases as the control group who are successful implementation of the transumbilical single-port laparoscopic appendectomy during September 2011 to June 2014 in our hospital, Among them, 10 cases are acute simple appendicitis, and 21 cases are acute purulent appendicitis. Perioperative managements include the rational use of antibiotics, preoperative umbilical cleaning, complete removal of the peritoneal exudate, the right suture of incision avoid leaving the death of the surgical cavity, see the incision in time and put the appendix and the gauze with abdominal pus into sterile specimen bag through the umbilical incision of abdomen. The experimental group includes 36 cases who are successful implementation of TU-SILA in our hospital by the same doctor during June2014 to March 2016. Among them, 14 cases are acute simple appendicitis, and 22 cases are acute purulent appendicitis.Perioperative managements are as same as the control group in addition to the sterile specimen bag with the appendix and the gauze with abdominal pus are dragged into the base of the single hole when they are out of the abdomen, then comparing the incidence of postoperative wound infection between the two groups. Results:In the control group, there were 7 cases which have infection of incision, others are not. In the experimental group, there were 1case which have infection of incision, others are not. Compared with infection rate of the postoperative incision of the two groups, the result is statistically significant(P < 0.05), the infection rate of experimental group is lower than the control group. Conclusion:Through the implementation of various preventive measures during the perioperation period, we can effectively reduce the infection rate of the incision after the transumbilical single-port laparoscopic appendectomy. It is not only benefit to the recovery of patients, but also have a good guidance to the clinicians.
