Purpose:By investigating the conditions of family functions and the quality of life of caregivers of advanced cancer patients, this thesis mainly analyzes the factors that affect their quality of life, and explores the role of coping styles between family functions and quality of life in caregiver of advanced cancer patients. Based on it, the author designs a psychological group intervention program which meets their needs so that it can help explore the influence that psychological intervention has on their quality of life, family functions and coping styles.Methods:In the baseline survey, a total of 174 caregivers of advanced cancer patients registered in a tumor hospital hospice carry on the questionnaire survey using “WHO Quality of Life-BREF”, “Family Assessment Device”, “Trait Coping Style”. According to a certain standard, the survey has selected 72 volunteers to participate in the study of psychological intervention. By using the paired method, they are divided into intervention group and control group. The intervention group members received psychological intervention except hospice medical staff daily health care. The control group did not participate in any intervention. After the intervention, two groups were received an immediate post test,comparing differences of scale scores of quality of life, family functions, coping styles before and after intervention.Results:1. The baseline survey findings(1) The quality of life of caregivers of advanced cancer patients in the areas of physical health scored significantly lower than the national norm(t=-9.858, p<0.001);psychological health field scored significantly lower than the norm(t=-3.090, p<0.01); the field of social relations scored significantly higher than the norm(t = 2.976, p<0.01); the environment field and score norm were no significant difference(t =-1.608, p>0.05).(2) The quality of life of caregivers of advanced cancer patients of has significant differences in gender, age, occupation, education, the per capita monthly income of family,relationships with patients, care time physical condition of patients, patients informed degree(p< 0.05).(3) For family functions, communication, roles, affection responsiveness, affection involvement, behavior control, general functioning and quality of life in all areas were significantly negatively correlated(p<0.05), except that the problem-solving dimension had no statistical significance with physical health field; positive coping style was positively related to each dimension of quality of life, negative coping style was negatively related to each dimension of quality of life(p<0.01); significant negative correlation between all dimensions of family functions and positive coping style, significant negative correlation with negative coping style(p<0.01).(4) Regression analysis showed that the main influencing factors of quality of life were: the roles, positive coping style, education degree, negative coping style, relationship with the patients, the physical conditions of the patient, the general function.(5) Hierarchical regression analysis showed that, in the control of demographic variables and various dimensions of family function, coping style still has a significant predictive effect on the quality of life. Mediating effect test results showed that coping styles were mediate variable between family functions and quality of life, playing the role of partial intermediary, and mediating effect of the positive coping was 45.29%.2. The psychological intervention results(1) Before and after the psychological intervention, a significant increase in the field of physical health, psychology health, social relationships arises in the quality of life of caregiver of advanced cancer patients(p<0.001).(2) Before and after psychological intervention, caregivers of advanced cancer patients have improved on problem solving, communication, roles, affection responsiveness and general functions(p<0.001); positive coping increased and negative coping decreased significantly(p< 0.001).Conclusions:(1)The life quality of caregivers of advanced cancer patients is low; part of the family functions operates badly.(2)General demographic data, patient-related conditions, family functions,coping styles, to a certain extent, affect the quality of life of caregivers.(3)Family functions can indirectly affect the quality of life.(4)Psychological intervention of coping style has a certain effect on improving the quality of life of caregivers. Through the intervention, family functions and coping styles of caregivers are improved.
