Dendrimer is a special polymer with new structure, it has some unique structures like highly branched, regular structure and monodisperse. Such compounds were synthesized with small molecules by repeated reactions, and their molecular weight,molecular size, shape, and surface functional groups could be controlled. These characteristics made it have to be many potential applications in many areas, and even to be a hot research in some fields. In this article, PAMAM dendrimers were synthesized with ethylene diamine and methyl acrylate, and studied their applications.The thesis includes the following five parts:Chapter one: Briefly introduced the phylogeny, structures, synthetic methods, and focused on the review of progress in application of the dendrimers.Chapter two: The PAMAM dendrimers were synthesized with ethylene diamine and methyl acrylate by divergent method, then the influencing factors of reaction were discussed and confirmed the optimal synthesis process. IR and 1H-NMR were taken to character the products.Chapter three: The G1.0 PAMAM was modified by 2,3-epoxypropyl trimethyl ammonium chloride to form a new quaternary ammonium salts, then the influencing factors of reaction were discussed and confirmed the optimal synthesis process. IR was taken to character the products. Finally, its minimum inhibitory concentration was determined.Chapter four: Sulfururea trioxide was previously synthesized by H2O2 oxidation reaction of thiourea trioxide, and then it was used to synthesiz dendrimer guanidine with PAMAM dendrimers. IR was taken to character the products. Finally, its minimum inhibitory concentration was determined.Chapter five: Silver nanoparticles were prepared by chemical reduction method with sodium borohydride as reduction, PAMAM dendrimers as dispersant, Ag NO3 as silver precursor. UV-Vis spectrum showed the formation of Ag nanoparticles had a strong absorption peak at around 410 nm, and it also had a dendrimer absorption peak at 280 nm. The prepared Ag nanoparticles have an average diameter of about 35 nm.Finally, its minimum inhibitory concentration was determined.
