Objective: To define the prevalence of atrial fibrillation in elderly patients with chronic kidney disease and investigate relevant factors. Methods: A total of 326 elderly patients with chronic disease were divided into 2groups: AF group and non-AF group. The age and other clinical data of 326 patients were recorded and analysis. Results: Among 326 elderly patients with chronic kidney disease, 150 cases were female and 176 cases were male. AF was present in 13.19% of the study population. Patients with atrial fibrillation were on average older than without atrial fibrillation(P<0.001); Prevalence of hypertension was higher in the AF group, but there was no statistically significant difference(90.70% vs 87.28%; P=0.524). Prevalence of hypertensive heart disease and coronary heart disease was higher in patients with AF. Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that coronary heart disease(CHD),dialysis and serum phosphorus were associate with AF among CKD patients, but Age, diabetes, hypertension, serum calcium were not associated with AF.Conclusions: Coronary heart disease, dialysis and serum phosphorus are risk factors for AF among elderly CKD patients. |
