Objective : Our objectives were to study the effect of Transmission Straightwire Technique combine with micro-osteoperforation on the rate of space closure, the movement of the incisor teeth and the first molar, the change of the inflammatory cytokines in the gingival crevicular fluid and the feeling of the patient. To assess the value of the MOPS in orthodontic clinical treatment. Methods:Choose twenty adult patients who meet the criterion were divided into the control and experimental group. Both of the group were treated wih Transmission Straihtwire Technique. When go to the second step which need to close the extraction interval, the experimental group received micro-osteoperforation on two sides of the maxilla and mandible and the control group did not receive micro-osteoperforations. Alginate impressions and the lateral cephalometric radiographs were taken at the beginning of the study and at the end of the experiment. The lateral cephalometric radiographs were analyzed with Pancherz analysis.Theinflammatory cytokine levels were measured using ELISA for the following cytokines:TNF-α,IL-1α,IL-6.The period of the space closing, the way and the position of the anterior teeth and the molar movement were observed on each side and the period of the space closing of two sides were test by paired t test. Pain and discomfort were monitored wih a numeric rating scale,to assess weather the MOPS can bring the pain to the patient. Results: 1. The average period of the space closing which was( 6.57±1.06)months on the experiment group and( 9.43±1.19)months on the control group was significantly different(P<0.05).2. An increase in the level of cytokines after 1 day in both the control and experimental groups. In both groups, these increases were statistically significant(P<0.05).TNF-α.IL-1α,IL-6 in the control group increased by8.2、8.9、3.2fold and3.8 、 4.1 、 1.9fold in matched group respectively.3.The Transmission Straightwire Technique can control the anchorage well. 4.The patients did not report significant pain or discomfort during or after the procedureConclusions : Transmission Straightwire Technique combine with micro-osteoperforation is an effective, comfortble, and safe procedure to acclerate tooth movement.Promoting the close of extraction space. And significantly reduce the duration of orthdontic treatment. The patient did not report significant pain.It has clinical application value.
