Objective: To explore the possibility of low-dose with MSCT in follow-up of the people with pulmonary ground-glass opacity.Materials and Methods: 200 patients with pulmonary solitary ground-glass opacity were randomly divided into two groups, the one group was accepted the conventional dose scan(120k V, 200 m A) and the other group was accepted the low-dose scan(120k V, 30-50 m A) by the Body mass index. The image of two scanning by the thin slice reconstruction obtained, the image quality evaluation for two scans and thin reconstruction obtained, records of the two scans imaging characteristics( lobulation, spiculation, air bronchogram, blood vessels through,bubble-like sign, calcification,Pleural indentation). The radiation dose parameters [(volume CT dose index(CTDIvol), dose length product(DLP) and effective dose(ED)] were compared between two scanning modes. Results: The noise of low-dose group was significantly higher than the conventional dose group, the difference between the two groups had the significant difference.(t= 10.608, P<0.05);no statistically significant differences between the two scanning mode and thin slice reconstruction image quality. The two scans imaging characteristics(lobulation, spiculation, air bronchogram, blood vessels through,bubble-like sign, calcification, Pleural indentation) showed no significant difference. Two groups of the radiation dose parameters(CTDIvol, DLP, ED) difference were statistically significant(P <0.01).Conclusions:Low-dose spiral CT was not only decrease the radiation dose of patients, but supply the need of diagnosis, can be used in the follow-up of the pulmonary ground-glass opacity, is a scientific, economical inspection methods.
