Objective:To study the expression and significance of PKM2 in bladder urothelial carcinoma.and the relationship between clinical pathological features. Methods:For the selection of bladder urothelial carcinoma after resection of the tumor specimens of 50 patients with pathologically confirmed and excluded preoperative chemotherapy patients had Hangfang. All cases were from January 2012 to December2014 in the patients with bladder urinary tract epithelial cancer surgery patients. Male 35 cases, female 15 cases, age 24 ~ 84 years old, average age 61 years old.According to the UICC pathological staging criteria for bladder cancer TNM revised in 1997, it was classified as follows:(1) differentiation type: 19 cases of highly differentiated patients,14 cases of middle differentiation, 17 cases of low differentiation.(2) clinical TNM stage:Ta-T1 phase(non muscle invasive bladder cancer) 33 cases, T2-T4 phase(muscle invasive bladder cancer) 17 cases. In control group, 15 cases of normal bladder mucosa were selected. The expression of PKM2 was detected by immunohistochemistry in tissue sections from 50 cases of TCC and 10 cases of normal bladder mucosa, and their correlation with clinical data features was analyzed. Results:The expression rate in bladder urothelial carcinoma and normal bladder tissues were94.0%and 13.3%,the expression of PKM2 was significantly higher in TCC than normal bladder tissues,The expression intensity of PKM2 in cancer tissue was significantly higher than that in normal bladder mucosa. We analyzed the relationship between the expression level of PKM2 and the clinical pathological data of the patients with bladdercancer,It was found that the expression level of PKM2 increased with the increase of histological grade and TNM stage, while the expression level of PKM2 was not significantly correlated with the gender and age of the patients. Conclusion:The expression of PKM2 was higher in the TCC than those in the noncancerous bladder tissue, which indicates that it may play an important role during the development of TCC. And relationship to TCC pathological grade, clinical stage and metastasis.
