Objective:To evaluate the curative effect of endoscopic unilateral vidian neurectomy in the management of moderate-severe persistent allergic rhinitis and vasomotor rhinitis.Methods:89 patients withs moderate-severeperisistent allergic rhinitis and vasomotor rhinitis treated with endoscopic unilateral vidian neurectomy were collected from 2012.3 to2015.10.The nasal symptom were assessed at pre-operation and 6 months,1 year,2 years and 3 years after operation using visual analogue scale.The tear secretion levels of preoperation and postoperation were measured through the tear secretion experiment.Results:Among 89 cases,72 cases had completed follow-up documents more than 1year.The nasal symptom such as rhinorrhea, sneezing, itching, nasal congestion were significantly relieved at the time of 6 months, 1 year,2 yearsand 3 years after endoscopic unilateral vidian neurectomy than preoperation,respectively,p<0.05.The average score of VAS score were significantly decreased at the time of 6 months, 1 year,2 years and 3 years after endoscopic unilateral vidian neurectomy than scores before operation,respectively,p<0.05.The tear secretion levels at the time of 3days after the surgery were significantly decreased than levels before operation on the operated side,respectively,p<0.05.The contralateral side was the same.There was no severe complication in all patients observed.Conclusions:The unilateral vidian neurectomy can relief the bilateral nasal symptoms. |
