Object:To compare the clinical application value of optoelectronic technology with Thin prep cytology(TCT) in the screening of precancerous lesions and cervical cancer. Methods: As single-center, prospective studies, 243 cases of patients were subsequently tested with optoelectronic technology and TCT. Positive finding in either of tests made the patient candidate for biopsy as the standard diagnostic test, while negative finding in both tests meant she completed the study. SPSS software was used to analyze sensitivity, specificity, fake positive rate, fake negative rate and conformity with the pathological results of two technologies. Results: The sensitivity, specificity, fake positive rate and fake negative rate of optoelectronic technology were 67.31%,82.73%,17.27% and 32.69%, while the three rates of TCT were76.92%,85.45%,14.55% and 23.08% respectively. There were no significant differences of sensitivity and specificity between the two technologies. The coincidence rate of optoelectronic technology with pathological test was 50.45% while that of TCT was 60.36%, the difference between them was not statistically significant. Conclusions: The optoelectronic technology is a novel real-time equipment of cervical lesion screening with a similar sensitivity,specificity,fake positive rate and fake negative rate to TCT, can be recommended as a cervical lesion screening method,especially for the basic hospitals lacking of the cytology diagnosis doctors.
