Background:Low T3 Syndrome, one of the nonthyroid illness syndrome, are observed in heart failure patients commonly with close relationship to the progression, prognosis and long-term survival. But the effect of the Low T3 Syndrome to the ratio of re-hospitalization in HF patients is rare to date. The present study was designed to investigate the relationship between Low T3 Syndrome and re-hospitalization or death in HF patients. Methods:We collected 288 hospitalized HF patients at admission between January 2015 and October 2015. Patients were allocated to the Low T3 Syndrome group and the normal thyroid function group depending on the thyroid hormone levels and were followed-up after 3 months, 6 months and 1 year. Results: Kaplan-Meier curves showed that the low FT3 group had an increased rate of death and re-hospitalization(Log-Rank,χ2=25.368,P=0.000). And in the Cox’s proportional hazards regression model, Low T3 Syndrome also was the independent risk factor(adjusted HR : 1.910, 95%CI : 1.206, 3.026) of the death and re-hospitalization in HF patients. Conclusion:Low T3 Syndrome also was the independent risk factor of the death and re-hospitalization in HF patients. |
