Objective The article tries to study thyroid autoimmune antibodies (ATA), age, gender, disease duration, expansion Disability Rating Scale Score(EDSS) and therapeutic effect in multiple sclerosis patients,to understand the correlation knowledge of ATA anomalies and multiple sclerosis,to provide certain reference for multiple sclerosis treatment and prognosis evaluation. Methods The 64 multiple sclerosis patients diagnosis by 2010 McDonald criterion who were admitted to the First Affiliated Hospital of Kunming Medical University from January 2014 to January 2016 were enrolled in the study group.74 health workers and their family members were selected as the control group. Collected the fasting venous blood of the patients and the normal control group to do thyroid function by chemiluminescenc method. First, compared the positive ATA between the experimental group and the control group. Secondly, collected the patient’s general condition, clinical data, follow-up treatment effect. A binomial logistic regression was used to analysis to patients with ATA positive factors. Third, the patients were divided into ATA positive group and negative group according to ATA, the age, sex, TSH, EDSS score, cerebrospinal fluid and lesion location were compared between the groups. Statistical analysis was performed using SPSS 17.0 statistical software.Result 1. Compared with normal control group, rate of positive ATA in MS patients is higher(p< 0.05); 2. The correlation of ATA positive and age, sex and the abnormal of thyroid function except to the ATA were studied, and female patients were more easily combined with ATA positive, the older patients more easily combined with ATA positive. The patients had thyroid function remaining indicators excepted to ATA abnormal were more easily combined with ATA positive; 3. Contrast with ATA positive group and negative ATA group, more female patients hold ATA positive; patients with ATA positive have abnormal TSH possibly; ATA positive patients have more serious disability (p< 0.05). Comparing with ATA positive and negative group, age, EDSS score after treatment, abnormal cerebrospinal fluid, in the proportion of spinal cord lesions, were not significant different (p> 0.05).4. Comparing with MS patients in acute phase and remission phase, ATA positive ratio was not statistically significant different (p>0.05).Conclusion The proportion of thyroid autoimmune antibodies in patients with multiple sclerosis is higher than that of the normal population, and ATA may have a certain impact on the course and prognosis of MS. The detection of ATA is more and more attention, and it is recommended that MS patients be screened for thyroid function, especially for women and older persons. ATA changes should be monitored during the treatment of MS patients with interferon, Allen, or other immune modulating therapies.
