| Background:Distal radius fracture is a fracture of high incidence. It accounted for 17% of the confirmed cases of fractures in the emergency room. There are many methods for the treatment of distal radius fractures. Small splint external fixation of distal radius fracture is a kind of treatment method that can achieve good results. But there are few studies on the biomechanical study of small splint external fixation in the treatment of distal radius fracture. The appropriate classification of Small splint external fixation is not clear.Objective:To establish the finite element model of AO type C distal radius fracture, to observe the stress distribution and displacement of the fracture model under certain conditions by using the smart airbag small splint fixed fracture model and explore the classification of the treatment of distal radius fracture with smart air sac small splint.Method:Using MIMICS, Imageware, PRO/E software to reconstruct the 3D solid model of the normal forearm to wear the splint by CT data, and applying the manual way of division for bone cutting surface to create AO type C 9 subgroups of distal radius fracture entity model. To introduce the entity model into ANSYS Workbench to partition the three-dimensional finite element mesh to get the 3D finite element model can be used for the calculation. Setting balloon tied with pressure of 28Kpa, the radius and ulna proximal to the free degree of fixed constraint and 100N forearm axial pressure, to observe the stress distribution and fracture displacement.Result:In the C1.1, C1.2, C1.3, C2.1, C2.2, C3.1 type fracture model, the stress distribution was concentrated but the fragment was stable, no fragment re-displacement occurred. In the C2.3, C3.2, C3.3 type fracture model, there is a high degree of comminuted fracture, a large number of fragments. So the stress is dispersed and the maximum stress at the fracture site is small but the fracture is not stable, fragment re-displacement occurred.Result:Through the finite element calculation, using the smart airbag small splint to treat AO C1.1, C1.2, C1.3, C2.1, C2.2, C3.1 distal radius fracture can get good effect, C2.3, C3.2, C3.3 may get poor effect. |
