Objective:This research investigated the possible mechanism of grain-sized moxibustion therapy in Lewis lung cancer mice, observed the survival state, volume of tumor, survival rate and the changes of IL-6 and STAT3, proved that grain-sized moxibustion can reduce the levels of IL-6 and STAT3, then inhibiting the activation of IL-6/STAT3 signaling pathway to regulate the inflammatory microenvironment of the tumor. Thus provide the experimental research basis for the tumor therapy strategies.Method:C57BL/6 mice were hypodermic injected with Lewis tumor cell suspension to induce model group, and then intervened with grain-sized moxibustion (treatment group). Simultaneously a blank control group (control group) was set up. There were 10 mice in each group. Treatment group moxibusted the hou san li point for ten days, once a day. The weight, survival state, volume of tumor and survival rate were observed. Expression levels of IL-6 was detected by ELISA. Expression of STAT3 in tumor tissues was determined by western blot. Results:The survival state of mice in the model group was deteriorated, the survival rate decreased and the volume of tumor increased. The expression levels of IL-6, STAT3 increased significantly more in the model group than in the control group (P<0.05). Compared with those in the model group, the survival state of mice in the treatment group was improved, the survival rate increased and the volume of the tumor reduced greatly. Expression levels of IL-6 and STAT3 obviously decreased in the treatment than in the model group (P<0.05).Conclusion:Grain-sized moxibustion had remarkable effect on Lewis lung cancer mice, it can improve the survival state, reduce the death rate, and control the growth rate of tumor, which might be associated with regulating the inflammatory microenvironment of the tumor by inhibiting the activation of IL-6/STAT3 signaling pathway.
