Effect Of Li’s Artificial Liver System In Drug-induced Liver Injury

AimDrug-induced Liver injury is one of the main cause of Acute Liver Failure, Li’s Artificial Liver System, short for Li-ALS, achieved a major breakthrough in treatment of severe hepatic liver failure, and significantly reduced the mortality of patients. Based on the statistical analysis of clinical data,this article is aiming to understand the characteristics of the patients of DILI who accept Li-ALS treatment and the effect of Li-ALS treatment.Methodsretrospectively analyze 104 patients diagnosed DILI from 2011.1 to 2015.6 at the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University, who were treated by Li’s Artificial Liver System,collect their age, sex, medical history, general data, and divide them into NALF group and ALF group according to the severity of disease, and then use Roussel Udaf causality (RUCAM) evaluation method to evaluate the reliability of the diagnosis, and compare the alanine aminotransferase (ALT), aspartate aminotransferase (AST), serum total bilirubin (TB), prothrombin time (PT), creatinine (Cr) before and after the Li-ALS treatment.ResultsThe most prevalent agents inducing DILI were Chinese traditional drugs(69.20%), followed by antibiotics(12.5%). The ratio of male to female patients in the study cohort was 1:1.31, with 56 of the total patients(53.85%)being between the ages of 40 and 60 years-old. The RUCAM scale was not less than 3 points for any of the patients.After the treatment of Li-ALS, both groups’ biochemical index were vastly improved, ALF group’s coagulation fuction was improved significantly. The survival rate of 1 momh、3 month、6 month in NALF was 98.53%、98.48%、95.45%, while the ALF group 56.52%、52.17%、52.17%, respectively.ConclusionIn the patients diagnosed DILI and recived Li-ALS treatment at our hospital, Chinese medicine is the most often cause leading to DILI.Patients with acute liver failure have the lower short-term survival rate than those who didn’t achieve the standard. Li-ALS can vastely improve the biochemical index and coagulation fuction.
