Objective:The objective of the research is to explore blood retinol binding protein 4 level and estradiol level in perimenopausal women.Materials and methods:The objects of the research are 65 perimenopausal women. There are 22 early perimenopausal women and 43 late perimenopausal women. Obtain basic information, measure the height and weight, calculate body mass index(BMI), detect the levels of retinol binding protein 4(RBP4), follicle-stimulating hormone(FSH), luteinizing hormone(LH), estradiol(E2), progesterone(P), testosterone(T), dehydroepiandrosterone(sodium)sulfate(DHEAS).Results:RBP4 levels decreased with the increasement of estradiol. RBP4 was negatively correlated with estradiol after Spearman correlation analysis(r=-0.254, P<0.05). After HRT, estradiol levels increased significantly(P<0.05), RBP4 levels didn’t vary significantly(P>0.05). With the rise of growing rate of estradiol, the change of RBP4 declined. After HRT, estradiol levels increased significantly in late perimenopausal women (P<0.01). After HRT, RBP4 levels didn’t vary significantly in both early and late perimenopausal women (P>0.05).Conclusions:RBP4 was negatively correlated with estradiol in perimenopausal women. Although RBP4 levels didn’t vary significantly in both early and late perimenopausal women after HRT, the change of RBP4 declined with the rise of growing rate of estradiol. So RBP4 is related with estradiol, more basic researches need to be carried out.
