ObjectiveTo observe the clinical efficacy of Xingfengdaotantang in treating acute cerebral infarction; To study the correlation between the patients’degree of endothelial progenitor cells on admission or the morphologic features of caroti and the clinical efficacy.Methods60 cases were collected from stroke patients (Fengtanzuluo) admitted in the 2nd Department of Internal Medicine, Jiangmen Xinhui Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from July 2015 to February 2016. All the cases met diagnostic criteria for China’s guidelines of diagnosis and treatment of acute ischemic stroke (2010) and Stroke diagnosis and curative effect evaluation standards on a trial basis (1995). The cases were randomly divided into two groups and the differences of age and gender were not statistically significant (P>0.05). Both of the groups received Western medicine therapy on a regular basis, with the observation group being treated with Xingfengdaotantang (dregs refried, decoction orally twice a day and 100ml each time). Outcome measure:National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS), measured before admission, on the 7th, the 14th, the 21st and the 28th day under treatment; the degree of carotid artery stenosis and endothelial progenitor cells were measured before admission. All the data were statistically analyzed by SPSS 18.0 with significant difference (P<0.05).Results60 cases were selected and randomly assigned into two groups. NIHSS score: in general, there is significant statistical difference in the NIHSS scores of different treatment methods and treatment periods between the observation group and the control group (P<0.01), with the observation group apparently superior than the control group. in inter-group comparison, no statistical difference (P>0.05) was found before treatment; no statistical difference (P>0.05) on the 7th and 14th days of treatment; on the 21st and 28th day of treatment, the efficacy of observation group was statistically better than that of the control group (P<0.05), with significant difference on the 28th day (P<0.01).. Correlation analysis between the cure rate and the degree of carotid artery stenosis:there was an obvious positive correlation between the cure rate and the degree of carotid artery stenosis in the observation group (P<0.05); in the control group, no obvious correlation was found. Correlation analysis between the cure rate and the degree of endothelial progenitor cells:no obvious correlation between the cure rate and the degree of endothelial progenitor cells was found in the observation group; in the control group, there was an obvious positive correlation (P<0.05).ConclusionsThe results of this clinical study showed that, compared with treating cerebral infarction (Fengtanzuluo) with Western medicine alone, the integration of Xingfengdaotantang was superior in improving clinical symptom and prognosis.
