In recent years, the incidence of breast cancer in China showed an increasing trend, and the age of onset is younger than which in the west. Breast cancer is estrogen dependent tumors. Reducing the level of estrogen, is one of the main means of adjuvant therapy for breast cancer, and ovarian estrogen is the main source of women in the child-bearing period. How to control the disease and minimize the ovarian damage at the same time, has became a hot topic in the international research. About the defined standard of the child-bearing period, has no uniform international standard, currently. But in recent years, Chinese Anti Cancer Association organized experts to discuss the defined standard of the child-bearing period, andl developed the recommendational standard initially. Adjuvant therapy for breast cancer patients in the child-bearing period tend to have different influence on the ovarian function of patients. Ovarian castration, radiation resection, resection of pituitary adrenal are rarely used due to the side effects and is complexity of the operation,. Ovariectomy in efficacy has no obvious advantage of medical castration, and can cause permanent menopausal oophorectomy permantly, but still has an important role for the child-bearing period patients with advanced breast cancer. The damage of adjuvant chemotherapy for ovarian function is huge, but different chemotherapy drugs have different degrees of damage to the ovary. On the influence of Tamoxifen(TAM) on ovarian function in the world there is no clear theory. Gonadotropin releasing hormone has a protective effect on ovary, which can be used to reduce the effect of adjuvant chemotherapy drugs on ovary. The combined application of aromatase inhibitors and related drugs can protect the ovarian function. In the child-bearing period breast cancer patients treated with adjuvant therapy, to fully consider the effects of drugs on ovarian function and how to protect the ovarian, develop the best solutions for individual, so as to achieve the best therapeutic effect.
