Objective:To get the incidence of hypoxemia and to explore the risk factors for hypoxemia during the thoracoscopic closure of atrial septal defect. Methods:A retrospective analysis of patients with the thoracoscopic closure of atrial septal defect, from 2011 to 2014 in Fuwai Hospital. Hypoxemia is defined as SpO2<90%, to divide patients into 2 groups, the group of hypoxemia and the group non-hypoxemia. Univariate analysis and multivariate logistic regression were used to identify the risk factors associated with hypoxemia during the thoracoscopic cardiac surgery.Results:70 patients were enrolled. Hypoxemia were occurred with the incidence of 8.6% before cardiopulmonary bypass and the incidence of 51.4% after cardiopulmonary bypass. Before cardiopulmonary bypass, there was no significant difference between the hypoxemia group and the non hypoxemia group. After cardiopulmonary bypass, the variables of patient’s clinical data which had significant difference between the hypoxemia group and the non hypoxemia group included the patient’s age (36.0±12.0 vs 26.9±6.2, P<0.001), the ratio of the people with of heart function I level (5.6% vs 26.5%, P=0.016), the ratio of the people with the use of vasoactive drugs after cardiopulmonary bypass (91.7% vs 73.5%, P=0.044). Multivariate logistic regression showed that the age (B=0.097, OR=1.102,95%CI=1.033-1.175, P=0.003) was the risk factor for hypoxemia after cardiopulmonary bypass. Conclusion:The incidence of hypoxemia was as high as 54.3% during the thoracoscopic closure of atrial septal defect, which mainly occurred in 5-15min after cardiopulmonary bypass. Age was the risk factor for hypoxemia after cardiopulmonary bypass. With the increase of the patient’s age, the risk of hypoxemia increased.
