Objective:Study on the treatment of children humerus supracondyle fractures common failures and raise the methods of corresponding preventive measures.Methods:Retrospective review of506 children who treated for supracondylar hummers fractures from 2010.6 to 2015.6 in our institution including outpatient,inpatient.There are 318 cases who had treated appearance deformity and elbow joint dysfunction.Among these case,302 patients treated by another hospital,16 cases by our institution.by using the way to classify 318 case,we knows common treatments as using herbal of traditional Chinese medicine and manipulative reduction and plaster fixation, closed reduction and Kirschner wire internal fixation and open reduction and Kirschner pin internal fixation.Analyzed errors caused by these treatments.Results86 children had used the conservative treatment of Chinese herbs curative effect is poor,66 patients healing with manipulative reduction had poor effect.External fixation effect instable,need to replaster external fixation orthopedic treatment of 52 cases.Selective operation of 212 patients,26 patients of emergency operation. Surgical incision decompression invalid after chosen the wrong time, lead to Ischemic muscle spasm of 8 cases.Tissue adhesion, joint stiffness, ossifying myositis caused by adopted operative incision of posterior approach of elbow of 53 patients. The need for surgery to repair nerve damage in 28 cases.Epiphysis growth disorder caused by surgical injury of the distal humeral epiphysis of 2 cases.Inappropriate patients’ postoperative rehabilitation of 25 cases.46 cases of cubitus varus needed orthopedic surgery; 15 cases of myositis ossificans.ConclusionTreatment failure of supracondylar fracture of humerus in children was caused by:the abuse of external application of Chinese herb; lack of manipulative reduction and plaster fixation techniques;the timing of the operation is poor, lack of technology of closed reduction and pinning;Inappropriate patients’ postoperative rehabilitation.Improper treatment can cause serious complications brought about great harm of physiological and psychological to the children.
