Objective:Through the clinical observation on distribution characteristics of the TCM syndromes and related indicators of stroke,it is to study the influencal factors and the risk TCM syndromes of post-stroke hemiplegic limb swelling, and to provide some su-ggestions for the prevention and treatment.Research Methods and Content:In total,142 eligible medical cases of stroke patients were selected for research. These patients’s general information (gender and age),TCM syndromes, past medical history(hypertension, dyslipidemia and diabetes),serum albumin,s-erum total cholesterol, serum triglycerides, uric acid, fibrinogen were collected. And they were underwent the following tests including assessment of muscle strength,Fugl-Meye-r Motor Assessment(FMA) scores and National Institute of Health stroke scale(NIHS-S) scores. Furthermore, they were divided into two groups, namely group with hemipleg-ic limb swelling and group without swelling, based on whether hemiplegic limb swelli-ng occurred to patients or not in three weeks after admission. Then data analysis wasm-ade with SPSS 18.0.Results:1.Patients who met the inclusion criteria for a total of 142 cases. There are five patients shedding(3.52%)in the study. Finally, the remaining 137 cases were enrolled into the statistical analysis.Post-stroke hemiplegic limb swelling occurred to 80 cases among 137 cases of stroke patients. The occurrence rate is about 58.39%.2.Univariate analysis showed that age, serum albumin, assessment of muscle strength,FM-A scores and NIHSS scores were statistically different (P<0.05) in group with hemi-plegic limb swelling and non-swelling group. The logistic regression analysis showed th-at Muscle strength(B=-0.323, OR=0.724, P=0.024)and FMA scores(B=-0.877, OR=0.4 16. P=0.026)were the main western medicine factors of post-stroke hemiplegic limb s-welling.3.Occurrence situation of six basic TCM syndromes of stroke patients with hemiplegic limbs swelling were distributed as follows:in the stroke patients with hemiplegic limb-s swelling, the occurrence frequency of blood-stasis syndrome is the highest(53.75%).T -he remaining are successively Qi deficiency syndrome(48.75%),phlegm syndrome(43.7 5%),Yin deficiency Yang excess syndrome(30.00%),wind syndrome(28.75%) and fire-h-eat syndrome(18.75%).4.Univariate and logistic regression analysis of TCM syndromes showed that blood-sta-sis syndrome(B=1.019, OR=2.770, P=0.006)and Qi deficiency syndrome(B=0.840, OR =2.317,P=0.026)were the main TCM factors of post-stroke hemiplegic limb swelling. 5.The logistic regression analysis of western medicine factors and TCM syndromes sh-owed that muscle strength levels(B=-0.294, OR=0.745,P=0.048),FMA scores(B=-1.146, OR=0.318,P=0.007)and blood-stasis syndrome(B=1.148,OR=3.151,P=0.004)were ass-ociated with the onset probability of post-stroke hemiplegic limb swelling.Conclusion:1.The study found that the level of poor muscle strength or motor function for stroke patients tend to be complicated by hemiplegic limb swelling, suggesting that Stroke pat-ients should pay attention to improve the level of muscle strength and motor functio-n.2.The incidence of post-stroke hemiplegic limb swelling was affected by TCM syndro-mes.And it was easy for stroke patients with blood-stasis syndrome to have hemiplegi-c limb swelling.
