Objective:Searching standard diagnoses and theropies in TCM characteristics of Vertebrobasilar Insufficiency (VBI) by using TCM theory to research TCM clinical pathway, and to further optimizing the characteristics of Chinese medical disease and improving the core-competitiveness of TCM and serving for clinical treatments. Methods:Selecting 60 patients as research group who comply with the standard of VBI in July 2013 to July 2015,and using the therapy based on diagnoses and treatments on VBI in TCM of Traditional Chinese Medical Department.Meanwhile counting patients who comply with the standard of VBI in Neurology Department in July 2013 to July 2015 as control group.collecting two groups and observing the hospital days(HOD),clinical results, hospital costs(including costs of Non-Medicine Therapy in TCM,western medicine,Chinese patent drug, herbs, examination and test and others) and satisfaction evaluation.Establishing and analysing the database by the SPSS 16.0 software. Results:The shortest hospital days are 4d in research group, and 6d in control group. The longest hospital days are 12d in research group, and 18d in control group. The average hospital days are 9.15±2.4d in research group,and11.98±3.54d in control group. The average hospital days in research group are significantly less than that in control group (P<0.05),which are statistically significant. The average hospital costs are 7140.16±666.99 yuan in research group,and7768.82.82±793.52yuan in control group. The average hospital costs in research group are significantly less than that in control group (P<0.05),which are statistically significant.2.The total effective rate are 86.57% in research group and 93.38% in control group, the satisfaction rate are 81.67% in research group and 91.67% in control group. The total effective rate and the satisfaction rate in research group are significantly higher than that in control group (P<0.05),which are statistically significant.Using the therapy of TCM clinical pathway on vertigo patients caused by VBI can markedly improve the total effective rate and satisfaction rate of patients. Conclusion:The therapy of TCM clinical pathway on vertigo patients caused by VBI can markedly decrease the average hospital days and medical costs, increase the participation rate of TCM treatment and clinical effect and satisfaction rate of patients, and reach the expected effects.
