ObjectiveThis study aims at observing the cough symptoms of cold cough in childhood after the treatment with "Su Fei" massgge in children, and compared with the grow which treated by cough syrup for children. Clinical efficacy differences were compared between the two groups. Analyses the factor of cough score in the two groups after the treatment. Evaluate the clinical validity of the "Su Fei"massage in children, and prove it’s superior to the oral drug therapy, so as to provide a theoretical basis for the clinical application of massage in children.MethodsThe 72 patients were divided into "Su Fei" massgge in children treatment group and cough syrup for children control group by table of random number, each with 36 cases in each. The children from treatment group were treated with "Su Fei" massgge in children 1 times every day, and continuous treating for 5 days. Children witch from control group were given cough syrup for children treatment,2-5 years old with 5ml each time,5 years old above with 5-10ml each time,3-4 times every day, continuous treating for 5 days. Children from both groups were recorded cough scores and start treatment by the day enrolled, and then collect the cough scores after a course of treatment. A comparison were observed by cough scores between prior treatment and post-treatment to evaluate the therapeutic effect.Results34 case of each groups were finished the clinical trial finally.4 cases were dropped out.2 of them can not cooperated to finished the treatment with "Su Fei" massgge in children.1 case from the control group refused to have the cough syrup for children. 1case from the control group was out of touch.The total effective rate of the treatment group was 91.18%, when the control group’s was 85.29%. Daytime cough scores and night cough scores both decreased significantly (P< 0.05)in two groups. The cough scores of different gender, age and severity of illness decreased significantly (P< 0.05) in both two groups.The cough score of 3-4 years old children in two groups decreased significantly (P<0.05), the treatment group was lower than the control group.Conclusion(1)The total efficiency of "su fei" massage for children was higher than the control group children with cough syrup.(2) Both of two groups can reduce the cough symptoms and the treatment group is better than the control group.(3)The factors such as sex, age, severity, day and night cough did not influence the effectiveness of the treatment.(4)After treatment, the cough symptoms of 3-4 years old children from treatment group relieved better than the control group.
