Objective: Establish a rat of endtoside anastomosis of the cornmon carotid artery(CCA) so as to simulate the operation modle of vascular anastomosis. Methods: A surgical operation that stitches and anastomotic time are recorded is performed to create an endtoside anastomosis between the left and right CCA passing through the tunnel under the trachea in rats. After a month, oberserve the TTC staining and HE staining in the vessel of anastomotic stoma. Results: All the 30 Sprague—Dawley rats had one experience in comm on succeed in building the rat model of end to side anastomosis of the cornmon carotid artery(CCA) and the successful operation rate comes close to 100% with average seven stitches. And the time spent is(40±5) minutes. The patency rate is 100% after a month of anastomoses.HE staining shows anastomosis healing well. TTC staining of brain shows no cerebral ischemia. Conclusions: The blood vessel branch and nerve around the CCA should be protected during the process of model-making,the model can be used in the study of surgical treatment of moyamoya disease and vascular transplantation.
